SABI was founded by Sachi Hoshikawa, an architect with decades of experience in client representation and sustainability consulting. She has a Master in Design Studies with a specialization in Real Estate from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Master in Engineering with a concentration in Architecture from Kyoto University, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña. She holds several sustainability and wellness credentials, including LEED AP BD&C, WELL AP, and Living Future Accreditation. Her interdisciplinary qualifications in architecture, sustainability, and real estate have led her to participate in multiple private and public international development projects. Sachi was Founder and Managing Partner at Miliú, a real estate investment, acquisition, and consulting firm in the New York metropolitan area. She has been a visiting design critic at Columbia University, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Parsons School of Design, and the Oslo School of Art and Architecture.
SABI is supported by research assistant Andrea Dubbels, a recent graduate from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in astrophysics and creative writing. They have previous research experience in nuclear impact and history, as well as astrophysics fields such as stellar colors and the cosmic microwave background. Andrea’s interest in science writing and community wellness began with these projects, and now assists with SABI’s mission through researching documentation on hazardous materials, certifications and disclosures.
