We carefully select the healthiest building materials and products available in the market that fulfill our comprehensive evaluation criteria. Our database categorizes materials according to their sensory properties (color, texture, finishes, and acoustics), contributing to the efficiency of the design process. Our focus on ongoing innovation enables us to consistently update our library to incorporate emerging materials and retire those that are no longer viable.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our materials are chosen in accordance with our protocol where we avoid hazardous chemicals detailed by the LBC Red List, then select and rate them according to their sensory qualities, health endpoints, and technical properties. We promote transparency and accuracy by including only materials with ingredient disclosures verified by Health Product Declarations, Environmental Product Declarations, and Declare labels. As we do not conduct our own testing of materials, we rely on these highly researched and consistently updated third party evaluations to create a safe collection.
